It's The End

Yes, you saw it right. Disney Fairies Pixie Hollow is now CLOSED.

I tried to visit my pixie pals in the Hollow one last time but I must have read it wrong or something, because I was unable to log in. Apparently, it was closing at noon. Oops. Now it isn't letting me back in.

I can't even access Minerva's Pixie Page. It keeps telling me they're tinkering away. I've been expecting this since they announced it but I never expected it to come as such a shock. Unbelievable.

I was actually hoping to schedule a meet-and-greet so I could finally meet all the Bloggers I never got to meet in person. No such luck. I came home and Pixie Hollow was gone. Gone. I didn't understand, since it was fine when I came back for lunch. I had misread it as 11:59 P.M. Oh.

Our only hope now, is the petition. This one already has 5, 349 signatures. We reached our goal; why isn't the Hollow saved? That was a doubt that had lingered since the very beginning. But I held on to that hope, hope that the petition would change their minds. I guess I was wrong to think that.

Pixie Hollow has gone so far and had the potential to go so much farther. Did it come to a waste of all those years spent working on it? I know Disney wouldn't be tossing so much work into the trash for no reason. There has to be a reason - I know it.

I don't want to believe that Pixie Hollow is ending. I don't. But I have to come to my senses eventually. It feels like a piece of me literally died with PH. It was more than a game - It was a form of escape.

It's hard to believe the end of such a game would ever happen. I wanted to play until I was much older. To keep my blog alive, I'll probably transfer my interests to another game, or post my pixie memories from time to time. But no game could ever replace Pixie Hollow's magic.

I just hope it's opening again.

I really do.

Farewell pixie pals,

Minerva

Mind-blown

Wow. Just wow...

The petition has reached 5000 signatures and I, on behalf of everyone, would like to thank the pixies who signed by numbers to reach our goal. We reached it. So why am I not celebrating? It's simple really: it has been raised by another 1000 signatures. For some reason, the petition's goal is now 6000 signatures. I'm baffled. What? What happened?

Hmm...

I guess they want more signatures. I don't know.

On the other hand, I was able to meet up with Marigold for a bit today. It was my first time meeting another blogger and wow. We had a nice chat in the midst of all the havoc at Havendish Square :P

Boy, it was crowded! A fairy could hardly flap a wing's distance without bumping into someone else and that didn't do my computer any good.

She didn't see me at first :P

I had a great time talking to her even though the pixies in Havendish were... loud.

On another hand, I heard that my GIF was much appreciated :P
Here's a new one to remember our beloved Pixie Hollow.
Actually, I got the inspiration from someone on PHF. I wanted to make one similar to it ;)
The fairies on the final slide are a few of mine. They're all my fairies and I wanted to remember them in some way :)

I really am going to miss Pixie Hollow when its over. As the end draws nearer, the doubts grow stronger. So I'll spend the last hours preparing for the worst. Almost two years now. Two years since I was just a new pixie. It's saddening to think I'll never receive my two years badge. I suspect no other game will hold my attention for as long as PH so... I'm determined to keep my blog alive, however. So you'll still see me around - maybe on some other game. We'll see.

I have two years worth of friends, badges, and everything I've worked for. This may be farewell. But until then, I'd like to say -

Thank you.

My Fairies ~ Minerva

With the Pixie Apocalypse closing of PH coming soon, I'd like to take some time to remember my fairies. All of them. Yes, I don't think this was something I advertised publicly, but I have tons of fairies. I'm obsessed with creating them, what can I say? So, I'll start with my main account - the one with the D-Name, AthenaGrace.

Minerva was first created on December, 27th, a few days after Christmas, during winter break. She had tried on many different talents and was getting exasperated until she reached a shiny blue orb that only shimmered more as she touched it. She knew at once this was hers. However, she is still finding her true self.

She was my only fairy for the longest time, but then I began to get bored and created several more... You will meet them in the future :)

This is what she currently looks like:

Well, her outfit and hair might be a little different.

Before PH declared the end, she had become a Member only a month before, but it had ended before August 20th.

Minerva spent July 2013 as a Member and she was so excited by all the things that were suddenly open to her. She sped through all the quests and was able to complete them all in a month, while badge-collecting, managing to reach her 100th badge.

Even though I have many other fairies, for some reason, Minerva was never neglected for anyone else. (Although, I have to say, I neglected everyone but her) She was a non-member most of her pixie life, but has managed to make many great friends of which she set up a method of contact with.

During her time as a Member, she accomplished many things, including, purchasing her first Queen gown and most importantly, earning two new fairies on her account, something she had desired for a long time. More on that later - perhaps I will post the secret to three fairies, something that can still be used.

If she was asked to choose her favorite activity in the Hollow, it would be shopping or anything fashion related. Minerva is my inner fashionista and I am pleased she was able to unleash it. She loves heading the hair salon and asking Schelly for a new look, however, it's her friends she will miss the most.

Minerva is my inner fairy as well as goddess. I'm sure I have explained too often that I chose her name as a tribute to Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and strategy. It also explains her D-name, AthenaGrace as Minerva is Athena's Roman counterpart.

Before all of our fairies flap off, I'd like to do a proper introduction and farewell to all of them. Please fly over to Minerva's Pixie Page here to help me say goodbye to her.

If you would like me to say a farewell to your fairies as well, feel free to post their Pixie Page below. Minerva will be over there in a snap to say a rather tearful goodbye.

Minerva

Remember the Hollow ♥

If Pixie Hollow really does end, we have 11 days left. 11. Only 11. I for one, am taking screenshots like crazy, photographing every aspect of my Hollow life. Every gift, every meadow, every one of my best friends - all go into my folder titled 'Last Month of PH'. Although, if we really do get through to Disney, who seems to be avoiding us like the flu, we could save it! That really would be amazing, wouldn't it? At this point, it really does seem more fervent than it did when it was at the 20 day point. 20 days was a long time - long enough to make a change, long enough to keep Pixie Hollow. 10 days? Not so much.

If Pixie Hollow does end, I will not end this blog. I will continue it. The only difference will be that my posts will mainly be about Pixie Hollow based graphics instead of actual PH news, and sharing my Pixie Hollow memories with you - my readers.

And I will begin today.

There really isn't too much news to share; the Never News is full of the Famous Fairies' memories and nothing really changes. I don't want to abandon my blog, which will soon become the last piece of PH I have.

I think I'll begin by adding another chapter to my Arrival Day story.

Minerva's Arrival Day Tale: Travel

The moment the laugh drifted off towards the sky, it felt something was off. Something was different and the laugh intended to know why. It bobbed eastbound, allowing the breeze to carry it towards its destination.Flakes of soft white descended from the graying sky as the wind carried the laugh towards a small, brightly lit town. The tall evergreen tree in the center lit up the town square with glistening silver tinsel, shiny glass balls, and small lights concealed in within the tree. Presents lay underneath it, causing the laugh to wonder what kind of holiday it was.

Somehow, the laugh knew something wrong was hidden under the cheery exterior of the town. It carefully made it's way to one of the houses, where it knew a child was sitting. The laugh passed through the closed door as if it were nothing and flew over to the child. It detected something wrong almost instantly - the child had yet to give birth to a laugh.

Instant sympathy. The laugh remembered the Clumsy that had given birth to it - stony and rather emotionless. It carefully left the room, making sure to brush the child's cheek before it left. The last thing it heard was a laugh bubbling from the child's lips. The laugh turned around, in time to see another laugh floating up towards the sky.

The laugh floated in the inky darkness as a single star appeared, followed by another. The laugh swiftly flew towards a star - it felt drawn to this star by a magnetic force beyond its control. The laugh had only the faintest idea of where it was headed - to the Second Star, to Neverland.
---

Since I've continued it, I'll probably add on more chapters to describe Minerva's actual arrival.

Do you like my story? Dislike it? Want to say hi? Leave me a comment below!

Until next time, I will always;

Mix & Match ~ Summit Style

So as you all may know by now, I'm a guest author on Marigold's blog, Marigold's Pixie Hollow Musings. Visit her blog here.

I am now going to handle the Mix & Match section of her blog. I'm pretty excited to do it but I haven't been getting around to it... I think I'm too lazy :P (That means I really have to do it!)

I have about ten drafts saved at this moment but here, my dear readers, I will post a sneak preview before I post the actual.. um, post on Marigold's blog ;)

What can I say? My readers deserve special treatment :P

All two of them. (Well maybe more than two.. But I really have no idea)

So here's Sneak Preview number 1!

-----

Fly with you! It's my first official post as the author of Mix & Match! Wow... This is incredible! :D

Even though I'm a water-talent pixie, I still love fashion and believe that it's some sort of magic itself. Pair together a top, skirt, shoes, and add some cute accessories and viola! It's amazing isn't it? Simple parts that don't look great on their own still have the potential to be gorgeous! Magic.

Since all the shops have so many outfits now, I'll be tackling one shop at a time and featuring a few outfits from each (It's too difficult for me to only choose one) Later on, I'll begin to challenge myself and mix pieces from different shops! Today's featured shop is Summit Style and I have two mix & match outfits to be shown :D

-----

The post will be coming soon! (Hopefully)
So stay tuned! ;)

Response From Pixie Hollow!

I checked my email today and was surprised to find the response from Pixie Hollow Billing already waiting for me. I'm still awaiting the response from Disney Interactive.

Anyway, this is what they said:

Hello there,

The Walt Disney Company is committed to offering high-quality, entertaining play experiences in both online virtual worlds and mobile apps.  At this time, we are shifting our development focus towards other online and mobile play experiences.

We deeply appreciate your loyal support and sincerely hope you take advantage of the free, full unlimited access to Pixie Hollow between now and September, 19, 2013 Please enjoy the special activities and shop collections to mark our final month.

For more answers and further information, we encourage you to visit our Pixie Hollow Closing FAQs here:

Thank you again for your great enthusiasm and loyalty to Pixie Hollow!

Joseph
Pixie Hollow Billing

---------------------

Yeah thanks. Real helpful Joseph.

It seems that they are committed to being as mysterious about this closing as possible. Really, Pixie Hollow? Really? -.-

This was probably the most unhelpful response I've ever received from Pixie Hollow Services. Usually they are pretty open to ideas and are pretty fun to chat with. I guess they don't want Pixie Hollow to stay open. But I am not going to allow that, for I am a Pixie Salvation Solider.

Disney, if you really are as "committed to offering high-quality, entertaining play experience both in online virtual worlds and mobile apps" as you said you are, why would you be closing down three of your largest virtual worlds and role-play games? Why would you shut down most of the games; the games that have been loved by so many for so long? Most of all, why leave Club Penguin open? No offence, but I've tried it. I got bored within hours.

If you really are "shifting your development focus towards other online and mobile play experiences", why do you have to close Pixie Hollow, Toontown, and POTC? Does it really have to close just so you can develop new online worlds and apps? I'm sure there's more to the truth than they are telling us... Why must they hide it? I'm sure pixies wouldn't mind only getting new fashions at Queen's Boutique and the PPO every two weeks or every month. They change too much for anyone to save up diamonds anyways... If it means keeping our beloved Hollow, I'm sure us pixies would do anything!

It seems to me that people responding to the emails are just giving us automatic responses. Copy and paste. Send. Done. They just don't want to answer your questions. But we will not prevail! This will not be the last time they hear from me.

We must keep sending them our concerns and our letters so Pixie Hollow could potentially remain open! In the meantime, signing the petition several times wouldn't help ;)

Fight on Pixie Salvation Soldiers! <3

Favorite Pixie Hollow Memories ~ Sweet Pea

This is a little late but, they actually did post on the Never News again!

Fly with you, pixies! With Pixie Hollow closing on September, 19, we Never Council members wanted to take a step back in time and share our favorite moments from Pixie Hollow's past. I'll go first!

My favorite Pixie Hollow memory would have to be all the flitterific events. I've always loved Silly Days the best. It's been so fun watching it evolve over the years! It started out as just a treasure chest full of Silly Glasses on the shore of Palm Tree Cove, and somehow became all about mermaids! I've loved watching everyone flying around in mermaid tails, pretending to be "merfairies." Thank you for all of the Fairy celebrations!

Oh, and be sure to look in your Leaf Journals in the Honors section - everyone has earned the Never Unicorn Star badge!

Happy flapping,

Sweet Pea
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It looks like even the Never Council is going to miss Pixie Hollow...

Just out of curiosity, I opened my Leaf Journal and flipped to the Badges page. It was a surprise to see that there, in the Honors section, just as Sweet Pea had promised, there was a brand-new shiny badge!

The Never Unicorn Star badge!

I'm not quite sure what this badge was for but oh well!

Hmm... Oh well, it's a free badge after all!

Fly With You,

Minerva
