New Year... New Beginnings

I've been pretty quiet for the past few months. A few posts here and there, a comment from time to time: nothing more. I still haven't found anything to post about. Well, I was thinking, Hey, I love to write, why not post a few PH stories?

Well, if pixies go for it, then sure.

I'll start by a story about the end of Pixie Hollow:

September 17th: Before the End

Dewdrop Vale was as noisy as ever. Fairies had always been there, constantly chattering about doodads and whatnot that were new in their lives. Minerva thought her ears would fall off. They were not accustomed to the noise. She had always stayed away from those busy servers like Hidden Ridge, preferring to quest alone on a quiet, no-name server instead.

But today was different. She was here for a reason.

It was a whisper at first, just a rumor, as fleeting as a short gust of wind that the wind-talents had accidentally lost. As the day drew nearer, fairies were only more certain: the faith on the Mainland was growing faint, leaving Pixie Hollow and its fairies to disappear.

Choruses of tearful goodbyes sang through the air. Water-talents, of course. But she shouldn't be talking since she too, had exchanged farewells with her friends earlier that day. Teary ones, if she did say so herself. She was content enough, considering that the chains had been broken and everyone was equal. The fairies begging for presents at the Post Office had shrunken considerably, and she could afford to be more generous in return.

And that day was in two days.
It was peace. But with peace came havoc.

"We have to do something about this!" A tinker-talent called out. "All the mentor fairies refuse to discuss it with us. We have to make the Mainland believe!"

Of course, the determination was good, but the only fairy who had access to the Mainland was Prilla, the clapping talent, but even she had accepted the end. There was no savior. Minerva was doubtful of what they could do.

But she had to stay confident and optimistic. She wrote a column on the Never News and her readers would have wanted someone determined to help. To be honest, she was doubtful of how much convincing they could do.

She had met up with a few of her best pixie pals to set up a means of contact once the end of the Hollow came... Actually, they weren't even sure how Pixie Hollow would end. Minerva had spent some time in the Home Tree Library researching, but there was nothing.

No matter where she flew, she could never get away from the closure. It was everywhere. If she went shopping to take her mind off it, the shopkeepers would smile sadly and say how they would miss one of their best customers. Talking with the friends only lead to conversations about the future, and going to meadows would mean she'd overhear pixies worrying about it. Yes, Minerva was worried, but she had begun to accept that the Mainland no longer believed.

The only pixies who felt the same way belonged to the guild of Famous Fairies. She found herself visiting her mentor more and more often, since she always was in need of something and seemed to understand her unwillingness to talk about the 19th.

"Hi Sil," Minerva greeted as she entered the Grotto.
"Fly with you Minerva! I suppose you're here for a quest?" Silvermist smiled sadly. Many pixies were finishing their quests before the end.
"No particular reason."
"I see," Silvermist replied. "Have you heard?"
"Heard what?"
"The petition has reached 5000 signatures!"

Minerva smiled in spite of herself. At least the pixies in the Hollow hadn't completely given up. If they did, she didn't know what she'd do. At the very least, they could help her believe.

"I'll see you later, Sil!" Minerva called as she flew away. Destination: Havendish Square.
------

"Save Pixie Hollow! Sign the petitions!" A pixie with auburn hair clad in black shouted. Minerva flew closer to listen to the crowd. Minerva thought her face seemed rather familiar... And it hit her. Marigold Sunjewel, another columnist. She was pretty well-known throughout Pixie Hollow.

"Oh hi Minerva! I didn't see you there!" A voice interrupted her thoughts. It was Marigold.
"Hi Marigold!" Minerva smiled.

Well, she thought to herself. With bad comes good. In less than a week, perhaps my beloved Hollow would be less then nothing. But at least I could enjoy the last few days before everything dissipated. Like pixie dust in the wind.
----

I don't know, I just kind of felt like writing this.

It is somewhat truthful, since by the end, I really had accepted that Pixie Hollow was going to go. Oh and I really did meet Marigold ^^

So anyways, until my next post!

Fly With You,

Minerva

    1. No worries.. I wasn't very famous before either. (Actually, I don't think I'm that famous now either..) If I got 1 view, I was ecstatic.. But we'll leave that for another time.

I'll be looking for new authors soon to help me keep my blog alive. I'll post about that soon. When that's posted, anyone who wants to write is welcome to sign-up for a position. :) ~ Minerva ~
