Updates for FWYM

If you haven't guessed already, FWYM stands for Fly With You, Minerva.

I'm going to be updating my blog in the next few weeks. I plan to add a Facebook page, and perhaps a link to an Ask.FM page. I'm not sure how I'm going to incorporate it, and I might even put these updates on my secondary blog, but it will come together... eventually.

I've already created the Facebook page, click here to see it. :)

I've also been doing a lot of art, so I might even want to share some of that with everyone, on a new page I'll call, 'Art Gallery'.

I've been experimenting with Camtasia Studio 8 (for videos) and Paint Tool SAI (for editing images) so some of the results I've completed will be displayed on my new page.

Sapphire and Jade: If you have any art you want to share, I'll devote a section on the page to you.

I've always loved anime, so here's a look at what you might find on that page:

It's my first attempt using Paint Tool SAI and I'm pleased with it so far. By the way, I didn't draw the line-art, I just colored in the piece.

Also, I'll have a page about Sapphire and Jade, my guest authors. It's under construction at the moment, but will be up as soon as I stop procrastinating...

Eventually, I'll begin to work more on my secondary blog, or maybe even move this one to Wordpress. It's a little more straight-forward to use, and everyone else seems to be using Wordpress anyways..

Maybe.

Until next time,

Fly With You,

Minerva

Fairy Fashionistas - Classics ♥

Memories time! Nowadays, all of my posts will mainly be about Pixie Hollow memories. All my screenshots I've collected over the years will finally be revealed ;)

One thing I found with the closing of PH was that fashionable fairies were EVERYWHERE! All I needed to do was fly around and look. I'm glad former non-members had the chance to unleash their fashionista potential :) If only they could do that without having PH end.

So many pixies were flying about in black and white colors that I had to dedicate an entire post to them! I guess it's just a major trend. After all, classic colors are never 'out'. ;) I saw pixies flying around in the Hollow with gorgeous outfits on - I just knew I had to feature some of them!

 Pearl
Water-talent Pearl was one of the many fashionable pixies I saw dressed entirely in black and white. Her outfit is very wintery and ready for the warmer weather. I love her cute cap and her pants and boots were an obvious choice, being a winter-style outfit. Pearl's hair is also gorgeous and the white-blonde curls and dark eyes go with the whole 'black and white' theme. The belt is super cute and ties everything together, although I would have preferred a simple, thin belt to match the white stripe on her cap. One thing I'm not sure I especially liked was the scarf. I understand that it being a winter outfit, the scarf would be cardinal, but I think that dying the scarf white would provide a more balanced look. Plus, you'd actually be able to tell there is a scarf. Other than that, Pearl is definitely a winter-styles expert!

Julie
This fashionable light-talent caught my eye with her gorgeous outfit. Julie was definitely stylishly dressed. The dress flowed together effortlessly and looks a bit like something you'd buy off a mannequin. The plaid wrap top goes well with the simple black skirt. The boots were a good choice since the skirt is so short, but it doesn't really fit with the whole outfit. I would have preferred a more modern boot choice since the outfit itself is less classic and more modern. I've never been too fond of the butterfly headpiece but I understand why she chose it since it too, is black and white. Her accessories are nice, simple enough to tie this outfit together. I wouldn't have added a necklace though, since the neckline is so high. Julie's hair is super cute, shaggy, and just casual enough for the outfit. I might have dyed it a darker shade to add contrast to her headpiece but besides that, Julie looks ready for the runway!

Alexa
I love outfits that play with design and Alexa, another water-talent, definitely caught my eye. Her outfit may look simple at first, but it actually has a lot going on! I love her cap, it's very cute and ties the outfit together nicely. The Tankini skirt matches the outfit nicely and her choice of shoe makes her legs look extra long. Love it! One thing I'm not so sure about is the top and scarf. Since they are both stripy, they sort of clash. I can barely tell the shirt from the scarf. Maybe that was the intention: it does look a bit like a halter top... Her blonde hair complements her tan skin and the highlights give the outfit a pop of colour. The skirt doesn't look too practical for the winter weather, but since her outfit seems to be a mixture of winter and summer, maybe it's autumn and she wants to wear it once more before it's too cold... Alexa is looking good!

Holly
Animal-talent Holly has a simple outfit. Without the accessories, it may even be too simple. Just one big block of black. Personally, I think even one big block of black can look cute. The top and the skirt look great together and just flow to make one pretty, black dress. The boots were a good choice since the skirt was so short, and they fit snugly around her legs: chic and modern. The tie and accent on her hat add a burst of light to this otherwise-dark outfit. I like how the white is a mere accent. It looks nice and ties the outfit together (no pun intended) nicely. Holly looks like a business women with her fancy hat and tie!

Alexa Bubblesparkle

Water-talent Alexa looks pretty awesome. I love the use of the beanie hat (which is always been a personal favorite of mine) and the Morpho butterfly top (another favorite of mine) Perhaps it would have look more tied together with a chic black and white belt, but I love the outfit as a whole. I've seen this look a lot but the choice of skirt is different and fresh. It gives the outfit more dimension as apart from the simple and overused Tankini skirt. I adore the sneakers; I think it looks very edgy and goes great with the short skirt. The only thing that Alexa could do without is the bracelet. I think it looks too chunky compared to the thin lines in the outfit..

Happy Fairy Friendship Festival!

So it's around that time of year again... Febuary is Friendship month! Before it's over, I wanted to give a quick nod to the Fairy Friendship Festival that usually occurred around this time (I forget the exact date).

At this time of year, the fluffiest heart fashions would arrive at the shops and fairies would send gifts to their friends to show their appreciation. I actually think the idea of the Post Office was genius, only fairies made it into a... not so great thing.

Members would have a heart headband from the Ballroom, and everyone would be in the festive, pre-Valentine's mood.

Dulcie would release her special Friendship Festival silly sweets... And everyone would be:

Showering fellow pixies with hearts.

I wish Pixie Hollow was still open.. I'd really love to meet all my readers, but there never was enough time.. Maybe on another game.. There's always next time ;)

I'll leave you with an edit I made for the Festival.. Remember that you, all my readers, will always be my FFFs (Fairy Friends Forever) :)

The fairies in the picture are me, and my sister, Stella. ;)

Frozen

I just recently watched the movie Frozen and I have to say, it's absolutely amazing. Some people said that there was too much singing, but I don't know, personally, I loved all the music. Let it Go and For the First Time in Forever were some of my all-time favorites from Disney.

For those who haven't watched it yet, I'll try not to spoil too much.

Frozen takes place in Arendelle, a beautiful kingdom in endless summer. On the day of the new queen's coronation, the queen, Elsa, accidentally sets an eternal winter. Scared that she had revealed her secret powers, she flees to a snowy mountain, where she is free to unleash her powers. Her sister Anna, princess of Arendelle, goes after her in pursuit of bringing back summer.

This is the first movie with not one, but two Disney princesses. Elsa, the Snow Queen, and Anna, the uh.. Normal princess.

One thing I really like about Frozen is how incredible the art is! I mean it, Arendelle looks fantastic. I would definitely vacation there sometime. Next up in the installment of Minerva's life story, a visit to Arendelle in the summer! It should happen! Hmm.. I'm totally serious - nah, that would be so jokes.

But seriously, gotta love the view! There was even a Rapunzel and Flynn sighting in Arendelle to attend Elsa's coronation. Have you noticed them yet? *slight spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie yet*

See? I've seen a lot of debates about this and it turns out that the late queen of Arendelle and the queen of Corona were sisters, which makes Rapunzel, Anna and Elsa cousins. That explains why Rapunzel and Flynn were at Elsa's coronation.. I remember reading a very good explanation once: when the late king and queen of Arendelle were traveling by boat, they were going to Rapunzel and Flynn's wedding, since Tangled Ever After occurred 3 years prior to Frozen. And as you may recall, the king and queen died three years before Elsa's coronation. See? Magic. I think Disney may be saying something here.

I've heard people say that Anna and Rapunzel look similar.. But I don't see it as much. Maybe it's the face?
Personally, I don't really see the resemblance, but whatever...

They're cousins.

Disney is just awesome like that.

And Olaf, oh my gosh, I cannot even begin about Olaf. Normally the sidekicks take away from the scene for comic relief which isn't even funny.. But Olaf is just hilarious. He's just so naïve and cute. Best line? Has to be either, 'Oh look, I've been impelled,' or 'Some people are worth melting for.' One is so funny and the other is just so heartwarming. <3 <3

And his song, 'In Summer' is awesome. Seriously, he's a snowman who sings about summer. No heat experience indeed.

And this picture is so awesome. Olaf's swag :P

Even though Frozen is awesome, I'm blaming it for all the cold winter weather I've been having lately.

Frozen let the storm rage on...

And it did.

At least for me, anyway :P

Anyways, that's it for now, I'll leave you with my favorite song from Frozen, Let It Go, performed by Idina Menzel.

Indecive Thinking

Let me first say,
THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone who applied for a position. You gave me the hardest time to decide.
It only helps my indecisiveness more.

No sarcasm intended...

Since everyone applied for the storyteller position, I will choose 2 new authors for the storyteller position. If anyone declines, an email will be sent out to the alternate and the position will be given then.

Just to clarify, I will not post the names on here, yet. I do not want to cause hard feelings between anyone. I spent a long time thinking about who would be the best fit for the positions. To be honest, everyone was a good writer and if you weren't chosen, no worries, it doesn't mean you don't have the potential to be a good writer, it just means that other people were a better fit. Every single story line was different and fresh, I enjoyed them all.

Actually, I didn't tell anyone this, but I've actually been secretly taking note of specific things in the stories. I'm a bit of a stickler for proper grammar and spelling so I've actually taken some of those things into account :)

Sorry if this is a little late, I was just having a hard time deciding.

If you are notified of the position, please reply saying whether or not you'd like to accept. If you have a specific email that you would like to use when posting, tell me otherwise, I will use the one you applied with.

The authors will have the opportunity to be a moderator on the Chat Box, since I am very lazy and rarely check the box. (Oops, shouldn't have said that)

That's it for now.

Minerva

Until the End

The next installment of my story about the end of PH is here! Yayyyyyy....

So this chapter begins on September 19th until they get kicked out of the Hollow. Uh, I'll try not to spoil it and stop talking now.

September 19th: Last Day

Minerva wrinkled her forehead. It was the last day of Pixie Hollow's existence, things should have been chaotic! Fireballs should have been raining from the sky, pixies should have been sobbing uncontrollably, and Neverland's inhabitants should have begun to age. Okay, maybe not quite so dramatic. But things should have been going wrong, yet everything looked normal, as if it were a normal day and pixies were going for a stroll in Havendish Square.

She glanced at her new tinkered timepiece on her wrist. It's almost time. Almost time for everything to end, all the memories, all the fun, all the laughter, everything she had worked for. Gone. As if it never happened at all.

"Ugh! This is NOT happening!" She groaned as the precious seconds ticked away. "I'll wake up and it will all be a dream."

And then it happened. The end. The last thing she remembered was calling for her bee, Rainstorm and bidding him farewell. And the darkness enveloped her; it was like nobody else was there, just her and the dark, swirling vortex. She couldn't quite explain where she was: in the air? Water? Definitely not dry land. No matter how hard she tried to find out exactly what happened after, the more her mind drew a blank. It was as if her memories had erased that particular moment.
----

Gentle waves lapped at the base of the rock as the sun blazed down overhead. Minerva shielded her eyes and stretched. It was like waking up from a year-long nap.

"Where am I?" She murmured.

"Why, in the middle of the Mermaid Lagoon, of course," said a voice on her right. The voice was melodic and soft, alluring.

"Who's there?"

"It's only me." The voice drew closer as she heard the sound of a tail flicking water. Wait a minute, a tail? It was...

The mermaid's voice was curious as she pondered, "You're from Pixie Hollow aren't you? I heard that something major happened."

"Well, yeah," Minerva squinted, somewhat suspicious since she had heard from Sil that mermaids were sly and selfish. She flapped her wings, thankfully, they were only somewhat damp.

"You're a water-talent, right?" The mermaid interrupted her thoughts of escape.

"Yes. How did you know?" Minerva glanced at the mermaid cooly. Her hair was long and dark brown in colour. Her aqua eyes glinted in the sunlight as she flicked her ultramarine tail.

"Your wings are tinted blue," she shrugged. "I'm Corine, by the way."

"Minerva."

"Nice to meet you. And might I add, you look dreadful! Whatever is wrong in Pixie Hollow must be a very big deal!"

Well, she was honest, at least. Corine dug out a shell mirror encrusted with pearls and held it in front of Minerva's body. Her once-straight, tame hair had become wild and hung down in long strands, the green in her eyes was beginning to lose their shimmer and her black and white outfit was matted and torn. At least she had been holding onto her Leaf Journal.

"Oh dear, things must have been awful! Why you're the only pixie out here is beyond me. At least they had sense to toss everyone else on the shore! At least you know a bit about water though, so it isn't as drastic.

Corine began to fuss over her, insisting that a new outfit must be changed into immediately. Minerva was confused; it wasn't like mermaids to fuss, at least, that's what she heard from Sil. The mermaids in the Grotto were grumpy and often spent most of their time underwater, avoiding the 'pesky' fairies. Not that she had anything against being fussed over, of course. She was merely unaccustomed to it. And even less with a mermaid of all of Neverland's creatures.

"Corine," Minerva began.

"Yes?"

"Why are you being so nice to me? I understand that mermaids and fairies don't get along well..."

Corine gazed off into the distance. "I don't agree with that," she replied quietly. "I've always wanted to fly. I know it's such a silly dream but I've always wished... We aren't that different. We're both from Neverland after all."

Minerva smiled. "Thank you," she said. An overwhelmingly long silence filled the air and she fought for something else to say. "Do you know where I am?"

"I told you already, in the middle of the Mermaid Lagoon. You might as well stay on this rock since there's no land for at least 50 miles either side."

"Oh," Minerva bit her bottom lip. Looks like there's no hope going back to the shore then. That meant the only hope was to survive on a rock. A rock in the middle of the Lagoon. With mermaids. Sure, Corine was nice enough, but that didn't mean all mermaids were nice. Well, better one choice than none. Her logical mind began to build a blueprint, perhaps some driftwood floors, and something sturdy to hold against waves..

"I'll help you build a home," Corine offered. "With driftwood, seaweed and some shells and pearls. It'll be like a palace."

"How can I refuse?"

Even though Pixie Hollow was gone and she had no idea where the other pixies were, Minerva had never felt more at home. Perhaps it was the beginning of a valuable friendship.
-----

I've always wanted Minerva to meet a mermaid or two. A nice mermaid. So that's where Corine comes in. So this fulfills a little desire of mine.. Where will this go, I wonder? Keep reading for more! :)

Until next time,

Fly With You,

Minerva

@AllieFantage

Don't know if anybody's noticed some changes I made... Frankly, I don't know how many pixies check my Blogger profile. Well, if you did, you will notice that a. My old blog, Writing Magic is gone and b. A new blog has taken it's place.

The craziest part is that it isn't even for Pixie Hollow. It's for Fantage.

I guess I just really wanted to post again and decided that another blog would be the best. (I would NEVER take down this blog! :D)

Fly With You, Minerva is going to be quiet for a while as I will be devoting more time to @AllieFantage. Of course, I could never let my blog go into hibernation so I will still be posting every once in a while. However, if Pixie Hollow opens, uh, it's @AllieFantage that's going to be quiet. Very, very quiet.

Well, on a much happier note, I can't let there be no posts at all can I? So I'll be offering a few positions on my blog for guest authors! Yay!

Open Positions

Firstly, I'd like to have an author posting about PH memories so if you have lots of snapshots, please, do apply for the position. (Wow, this is sounding so official.. :P)

Next, someone who's good at stories will post stories every now and then. It doesn't matter what they post about as long as it's related to Pixie Hollow. If you're creative and love to write, consider this role.

Finally, I want a few pixies to moderate the Chat Box since I can't monitor it 24/7. They have to trustworthy and know when the line is crossed. (Sidenote: You also have to be a member of XAT. It doesn't let me make you a mod unless you are) If you're an author, you'll also be given a mod status if you wish. This isn't as important since authors also have the opportunity to be a mod and there aren't that many people on the chat box anyways.

If you're interested in any of the roles, please send me an email at minervagracefaerie@gmail.com with the headline, Application: Memories/Stories. (Select the one that applies for you)

I'd also like a sample of what one of your posts may look like. It doesn't really matter what you write, any longish drabble is acceptable as long as it's PH related. I just want good quality for my blog :)

I'll be taking pixies who want positions until the end of the month. New authors will have to give me their email for Blogger or Google so I can add them :) They will be announced next month unless I procrastinate which is likely..

Wow, I feel so official and buisnessy now. Hiring now!

Until next time,

Fly With You,

Minerva
