It's The End

Yes, you saw it right. Disney Fairies Pixie Hollow is now CLOSED.

I tried to visit my pixie pals in the Hollow one last time but I must have read it wrong or something, because I was unable to log in. Apparently, it was closing at noon. Oops. Now it isn't letting me back in.

I can't even access Minerva's Pixie Page. It keeps telling me they're tinkering away. I've been expecting this since they announced it but I never expected it to come as such a shock. Unbelievable.

I was actually hoping to schedule a meet-and-greet so I could finally meet all the Bloggers I never got to meet in person. No such luck. I came home and Pixie Hollow was gone. Gone. I didn't understand, since it was fine when I came back for lunch. I had misread it as 11:59 P.M. Oh.

Our only hope now, is the petition. This one already has 5, 349 signatures. We reached our goal; why isn't the Hollow saved? That was a doubt that had lingered since the very beginning. But I held on to that hope, hope that the petition would change their minds. I guess I was wrong to think that.

Pixie Hollow has gone so far and had the potential to go so much farther. Did it come to a waste of all those years spent working on it? I know Disney wouldn't be tossing so much work into the trash for no reason. There has to be a reason - I know it.

I don't want to believe that Pixie Hollow is ending. I don't. But I have to come to my senses eventually. It feels like a piece of me literally died with PH. It was more than a game - It was a form of escape.

It's hard to believe the end of such a game would ever happen. I wanted to play until I was much older. To keep my blog alive, I'll probably transfer my interests to another game, or post my pixie memories from time to time. But no game could ever replace Pixie Hollow's magic.

I just hope it's opening again.

I really do.

Farewell pixie pals,

Minerva

A Fight We Cannot Lose...

The Never Council is gone. So are the Member Services. All methods of contacting Pixie Hollow are all gone. It seems the Never Council is really determined to shut Pixie Hollow down. It seems that they have accepted this as the end. However, they are still posting so I suppose it's their method of saying, "We're still here but nothing you can do will stop us from shutting PH down. This is the end."

I know that there are rumors going around that Pixie Hollow is opening again in January so there is nothing to worry about but let's face it, in every rumor, there is a bit of truth, but also a bit of lie. What if that rumor was proven wrong? Then you'd have nothing to fight for anymore correct? Hoping that it will open again in January is a pretty thin life-line when the Never Council and Member Services have pretty much made it clear that it's the end and that Pixie Hollow's legacy will cease to exist in a month or so.

20 days.

We only have 20 days left. I think we can do it.

It has only been 10 days and we have almost reached 3000 signatures on the petition site.
That's pretty incredible.

Please sign the petition here:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/257/590/769/stop-the-closing-of-disney-mmorpgs/
Even though the petition may not change their minds, it could help them consider keeping our beloved PH open.

Now even though they have closed down all methods of contact, determined pixies never give up!

You can email them at both  disney.interactive.pr@disney.com and  billing@pixiehollow.com
Tell them you don't want Pixie Hollow to close!

I sent both emails the same message and I will await their reply.

Let them know or else they will not do anything.

You can also mail a letter to:

Disney Interactive
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521

Contact them repeatedly! Join the fight and become a Pixie Salvation Soldier!

More Information on Closure

Many people have been buzzing about the reason why Pixie Hollow is closing. I'm not quite sure why, but I can make a few guesses.

1. Disney wants people to pay more attention to Club Penguin rather than the other more interesting games.

2. Disney encountered a huge loss of money and does not have enough money to keep Pixie Hollow, Toontown, and Pirates of the Caribbean running like it should.

3. The Flash software Pixie Hollow runs on is experiencing some odd virus that eats up the code they make the game with and it's too expensive to try to fix or unpreventable.

I mean, either one is possible..

If it's number 1, then there probably is no way we'll get Pixie Hollow back, not to be negative :(

If it's number 2, there probably is some way of getting it back if we can convince them how much we will miss our virtual RPGs.

If it's number 3, it will take awhile but we could potentially get the Hollow back.

I just hope it's not a mix of all three.

Crystal Airshine said on her blog, Pixie Hollow's Little Secrets, that there is more than ONE reason which is pretty disappointing. Oh well. We just have to overcome one problem at a time. One hurdle at a time. All those small steps will make a difference.

Crystal says: "This is quite a complicated matter. And talking about causes and reasons, I heard this rumor lately on the Hollow's closing down with seemed quite realistic to me." She continues by saying, "Some parents think this is dangerous." Of course, we all know they are wrong! "They sued Pixie Hollow! Yep, that's right! They took Disney to the courts and that must have been quite a problem for Disney, as they were on the verge of losing a huge sum of money."

I know that's certainly possible but I'm not sure if it's just me or is it a little hard to believe? I mean, Disney makes millions every year. Maybe even billions. It must be a HUGE sue to make such a big dent. Not that I don't believe Crystal - I do but it really must have been a very big issue for them to have to close down all three virtual worlds. But really? Those parents should maybe just watch as their child plays and interacts with the other players - then they will know how safe the Hollow is!

Apparently, there's more than one rumor going around about this. According to Crystal's friend's father, "one of Disney's virtual worlds had been hacked by a very intense virus that could cause serious damage. This could actually be about those three games. If Disney couldn't destroy the bug and it affected user's PCs, that could prove to be disastrous for it!"

Of course, that reason was actually my number 3! It certainly is a possibility and that may be the reason the game is so filled with bugs lately. I'm sure we have all experienced a few - the Missing Wardrobe, the Clothes that Don't Change-After-You-Have-Changed, the Furniture that Goes Back Into Storage... Need I go on?

I think Disney is just letting the bug take over at this point. :(

Farewell Pixie Hollow!

I know a lot of you are still longing for Pixie Hollow to take back their closure and say everything will resume to normal soon.

I know I am too.

In fact, I went to sleep last night hoping that Pixie Hollow's ending was all a dream. It wasn't...

I know all of you are still upset. So am I... But I've accepted that it will have ended eventually anyways; all good things must come to an end right?

Hey, I'm wishing PH wouldn't end and I'd miss it just as much as the next fairy but, I'm going to accept it. Perhaps someday, Disney will realize what a huge mistake they've made and bring it back. A fairy can dream right?

Although the end of PH's legacy is drawing near, I'm so happy that they brought back the Ice Palace, Mermaid Grotto and all those places. Therefore, instead of mourning them right away, I will seize the opportunity and make the most of it. I'm still going to post. I'm still going to post about events, quests, and of course, fashion! (My favorite!)

Perhaps before Pixie Hollow has officially ended, Disney will realized that it's not such a good idea and keep it running. But until they have decided that it will indeed end. However, I want this to be the best month anyone in PH has ever had.

Make the most of your time!

Don't mourn it until the final breath of PH. Enjoy it when you can! (Oh but saving PH is just as important ;)
I'm definitely not going to end this blog.

This will NOT be my final post.

I will still post pictures of... my PH life.

And even after, I shall post pictures of the memories I've had with my friends.

I'm sure of it.
That is my will.

I promise.
